5-Amino-1MQ calculator

5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule, not a peptide, that blocks the enzyme NNMT. In obese mice, 20 mg/kg injected under the skin cut body weight and fat mass without changing food intake, and a 2024 follow-up improved liver and glucose markers.

About the 5-Amino-1MQ math

5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule, a quinolinium salt, not a peptide. Peptide suppliers list it anyway, most often as capsules or as a 50 mg vial. Capsules need no math, since the mass per capsule is printed on the label. For the vial, the reconstitution arithmetic is exactly the same as for any peptide: mass divided by solvent volume gives concentration, and a draw volume is the amount wanted divided by that concentration. A 50 mg vial with 5 mL of bacteriostatic water is 10 mg/mL. A 5 mg draw is 0.5 mL, or 50 units on a U-100 syringe, and 50 divided by 5 is ten draws per vial. With 2 mL in the vial the concentration is 25 mg/mL and the same 5 mg draw is 0.2 mL, or 20 units. With 10 mL it is 5 mg/mL and 5 mg is a full 1 mL, or 100 units. A 2 mg draw at 10 mg/mL is 0.2 mL, or 20 units, with 25 draws in the vial.

5-Amino-1MQ questions

5-amino-1MQ dosage?

There is no human-tested dose. Community use is 50 to 150 mg a day by mouth, usually one 50 mg capsule once or twice a day, for 4 to 8 weeks. The mouse studies injected 20 mg/kg under the skin, which does not convert to a human capsule dose.

Do you inject 5-amino-1MQ?

Almost nobody does. It is sold as capsules or 50 mg vials that people dissolve and drink. The mice were injected, but there is no human injection data and the molecule is orally available in the 2024 mouse pharmacokinetics.

How many units is 5 mg of 5-Amino-1MQ at 50 mg in 5 mL?

50 mg divided by 5 mL is 10 mg/mL. 5 mg divided by 10 mg/mL is 0.5 mL, which is 50 units on a U-100 syringe. The vial holds 10 such draws.

How much bacteriostatic water for a 50 mg vial of 5-Amino-1MQ?

Any volume the vial holds. 1 mL gives 50 mg/mL, 2 mL gives 25 mg/mL and 3 mL gives 16.7 mg/mL (rounded). A 2 mg draw is 4 units, 8 units or 12 units at those three concentrations.

How many 10 mg draws are in a 50 mg vial of 5-Amino-1MQ?

50 divided by 10 is 5 draws. With 5 mL of solvent (10 mg/mL) each 10 mg draw is a full 1 mL, or 100 units; with 2 mL (25 mg/mL) it is 0.4 mL, or 40 units.
