Sermorelin calculator

Sermorelin is the first 29 amino acids of natural GHRH. It was FDA approved as Geref for childhood growth hormone deficiency at 30 mcg/kg at bedtime and as a diagnostic test, then withdrawn in 2008 for manufacturing reasons, not safety.

About the Sermorelin math

Sermorelin is a synthetic 29-amino-acid peptide. Research suppliers list it as a lyophilized powder, most often in 2 mg and 5 mg vials. Both sizes give a round concentration when the solvent volume is chosen so that the vial lands at 2 mg/mL. A 2 mg vial with 1 mL of bacteriostatic water is 2 mg/mL, or 2,000 mcg/mL. A 200 mcg draw is 0.1 mL, or 10 units on a U-100 syringe, and 2,000 divided by 200 is 10 draws per vial. A 5 mg vial with 2.5 mL reaches the same 2 mg/mL, so each 200 mcg draw is still 10 units and the vial holds 25 draws. With 1 mL in the 5 mg vial the concentration is 5 mg/mL, where 200 mcg is 0.04 mL, or 4 units, a small mark to read on a 1 mL barrel but easy on a 0.3 mL one. Matching concentration across the two sizes means the units per draw stay the same when switching vials.

Sermorelin questions

How much sermorelin should I take?

Adults commonly inject 200 to 300 mcg at bedtime, 5 nights a week. The old FDA label was 30 mcg/kg nightly for children, which would be about 2 mg for a 70 kg adult, but nobody uses that in practice. On a 2 mg vial in 1 mL, 200 mcg is 10 units.

How many units of sermorelin is 200 mcg?

With 2 mg reconstituted in 1 mL you have 2000 mcg per mL, so 200 mcg is 0.1 mL, which is 10 units on a U-100 syringe. 300 mcg is 15 units. With 5 mg in 2.5 mL the numbers are the same.

How many units is 200 mcg of Sermorelin at 2 mg in 1 mL?

2 mg divided by 1 mL is 2 mg/mL, or 2,000 mcg/mL. 200 mcg divided by 2,000 mcg/mL is 0.1 mL. On a U-100 syringe 0.1 mL is 10 units.

How much bacteriostatic water for a 5 mg vial of Sermorelin?

Any volume the vial holds. 1 mL gives 5 mg/mL, 2 mL gives 2.5 mg/mL and 3 mL gives 1.67 mg/mL (rounded). A 500 mcg draw is 10 units, 20 units or 30 units at those three concentrations.

How many 100 mcg draws are in a 2 mg vial of Sermorelin?

2 mg is 2,000 mcg, and 2,000 divided by 100 is 20 draws. In 1 mL of solvent (2,000 mcg/mL) each 100 mcg draw is 0.05 mL, or 5 units.
