Units to mL converter
Divide units by 100 for a U-100 syringe, by 40 for a U-40 syringe. 10 units is 0.1 mL on U-100.

Reading the syringe backwards into millilitres is the step that lets a unit count be checked against the concentration. 10 units on U-100 is 0.1 mL; at 2.5 mg/mL that is 0.25 mg, or 250 mcg. If the number does not match the amount you intended, one of the three inputs is wrong.
Units on U-40 are two and a half times larger in volume. 10 units on a U-40 barrel is 0.25 mL, not 0.1 mL. Mixing the two scales is the single largest error a converter can hide, which is why both are shown here.
