KPV calculator
KPV is the last three amino acids of alpha-MSH. In mice it calmed two models of colitis and reduced gut inflammation markers, and cell work shows it enters gut cells through the PepT1 transporter, which is why oral use is discussed.
- Frequency
- once or twice daily
- Timing
- any time; oral forms are taken before meals
- Cycle
- 2 to 6 weeks, then reassess
- Route
- subcutaneous (abdomen); oral capsules also sold; topical for skin
- Easy mix
- 5 mg + 2 mL = 2.5 mg/mL, so 250 mcg = 0.1 mL = 10 units and 500 mcg = 20 units. A 10 mg vial + 2 mL doubles the strength: 250 mcg = 5 units.

About the KPV math
KPV is a tripeptide, lysine-proline-valine, matching the C-terminal end of alpha-MSH. Suppliers list it in 5 mg and 10 mg vials, and some carry oral formats that this page does not cover. The example draw is 500 mcg. A 5 mg vial with 2.5 mL of bacteriostatic water is 2 mg/mL, or 2,000 mcg/mL. A 500 mcg draw is 0.25 mL, or 25 units on a U-100 syringe, and 5,000 divided by 500 is ten draws per vial. A 10 mg vial with the same 2.5 mL is 4 mg/mL, where 500 mcg is 0.125 mL, or 12.5 units, a half mark that most barrels do not show. Put 2 mL in the 10 mg vial instead: 5 mg/mL, and 500 mcg is 0.1 mL, or a clean 10 units, with 20 draws in the vial. A 5 mg vial with 1 mL is also 5 mg/mL and gives the same 10 units per 500 mcg. When a draw lands on a half unit, change the solvent volume rather than guessing the mark.
KPV questions
What is the KPV peptide dosage?
There is no human-tested dose. Community use is 200 to 500 mcg subcutaneously once or twice a day for 2 to 6 weeks, with 250 mcg twice daily the most common split. Oral capsules are usually in the low milligram range.
How many units of KPV is 250 mcg?
With 5 mg in 2 mL (2.5 mg/mL), 250 mcg is 10 units. With 10 mg in 2 mL it is 5 units, so use 4 mL on a 10 mg vial if you want 10-unit draws.
How many units is 500 mcg of KPV at 10 mg in 2 mL?
10 mg divided by 2 mL is 5 mg/mL, or 5,000 mcg/mL. 500 mcg divided by 5,000 mcg/mL is 0.1 mL, which is 10 units on a U-100 syringe. The vial holds 20 such draws.
How much bacteriostatic water for a 5 mg vial of KPV?
Any volume the vial holds. 1 mL gives 5 mg/mL, 2 mL gives 2.5 mg/mL and 3 mL gives 1.67 mg/mL (rounded). A 250 mcg draw is 5 units, 10 units or 15 units at those three concentrations.
How many 1 mg draws does a 10 mg vial of KPV give?
10 divided by 1 is 10 draws. With 2 mL in the vial (5 mg/mL) each 1 mg draw is 0.2 mL, or 20 units; with 1 mL in the vial (10 mg/mL) it is 0.1 mL, or 10 units.
