Glutathione calculator

Glutathione is a three-amino-acid antioxidant your cells make, sold in 200 to 1,500 mg vials. Clinic IV doses run 600 to 1,200 mg per session; the best controlled trial gave 1,400 mg IV three times a week for 4 weeks and was well tolerated with a mild, non-significant effect.

600 mg + 3 mL = 200 mg/mL, so 200 mg = 1 mL = 100 units (a full insulin syringe). 200 mg/mL is near the top of what dissolves; swirl, do not shake, and use within days because reduced glutathione oxidizes fast.

About the Glutathione math

Glutathione, or L-Glutathione, is a tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine and glycine found in most cells. It is listed by peptide suppliers in much larger masses than peptides: 200 mg, 600 mg and 1,500 mg vials. The reconstitution math is identical to any peptide vial; only the scale changes. A 200 mg vial with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water is 100 mg/mL. A 100 mg draw is 1 mL, or 100 units on a U-100 syringe, and the vial holds two. A 600 mg vial with 3 mL is 200 mg/mL, so 100 mg is 0.5 mL, or 50 units, with six draws in the vial; a 200 mg draw there is 1 mL, or 100 units, three per vial. A 1,500 mg vial with 10 mL is 150 mg/mL, and 100 mg is 0.667 mL, which rounds to 67 units, fifteen draws per vial. With 15 mL it is 100 mg/mL and 100 mg is an even 100 units. Masses this large need vials rated for 10 mL or more, so check the capacity before choosing a volume.

Glutathione questions

How much glutathione to inject subcutaneously?

200 to 400 mg two or three times a week is the common range. At 200 mg/mL that is a full 1 mL syringe per 200 mg, so split 400 mg across two sites. Push slowly; it stings.

What is the IV glutathione dose?

Clinics give 600 to 1,200 mg per drip, one to three times a week. The controlled Parkinson's pilot used 1,400 mg three times a week for 4 weeks with no safety issues. The Indian injectable label is 300 to 600 mg a day for liver indications.

How many units is 100 mg of Glutathione at 600 mg in 3 mL?

600 mg divided by 3 mL is 200 mg/mL. 100 mg divided by 200 mg/mL is 0.5 mL, which is 50 units on a U-100 syringe. The vial holds 6 such draws.

How much bacteriostatic water for a 200 mg vial of Glutathione?

Any volume the vial holds. 1 mL gives 200 mg/mL, 2 mL gives 100 mg/mL and 3 mL gives 66.7 mg/mL (rounded). A 50 mg draw is 25 units, 50 units or 75 units at those three concentrations.

How many 200 mg draws are in a 1,500 mg vial of Glutathione?

1,500 divided by 200 is 7.5, so seven full 200 mg draws with 100 mg left over. With 10 mL of solvent (150 mg/mL) each 200 mg draw is 1.33 mL (rounded), which is more than one U-100 syringe holds and would be split into two draws.
